Colonic lipomas are uncommon nonepithelial neoplasms that are typically sessile, asymptomatic and incidentally found during endoscopy, surgery, or autopsy. We present a very rare case of a 34-year-old female patient with symptomatic pedunculated cecal lipoma causing intermittent colo-colonic intussusception. Despite adequate imaging studies, definite preoperative diagnosis was not established a...

AIMS: A 54-year-old woman visited our emergency room with sudden onset of intermittent abdominal cramps. She was nauseous and had rectal blood loss for three days. Physical examination showed a tender ...
متن کاملColo-Colonic Intussusception Caused by a Submucosal Lipoma
Adult intussusception is a rare clinical presentation and often not considered clinically in the differential diagnosis of adult patients with vague abdominal complaints. A 44-year-old woman visited our emergency department with sudden onset of intermittent abdominal pain. Diagnostic imaging revealed an intussusception caused by a submucosal lipoma of the sigmoid. A laparotomy was performed and...

Intussusception is less common in adults than in children. Intussusception in adults is associated with an identifiable etiology in 90% of cases. Lipoma of the large intestine is rare; with a reported incidence ranging between 0.2% and 4.4%. Small Lipomas are usually asymptomatic, but giant Lipomas are often presented as abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhea, bleeding and Intussusception. We prese...
